![]() ![]() In Senua’s Sacrifice, Senua travels through Helheim (the Underworld of Norse mythology) as part of a journey to rescue the soul of her dead lover, Dillion, from the goddess Hela. In case you didn’t play the original, Hellblade was a dark action-adventure game about Senua, a kick-ass Pict warrior dealing with mental health issues that she interprets as a curse placed on her. Hellblade 2 was revealed at The Game Awards 2019, with a dark, hard-hitting reveal trailer that didn’t give much away in terms of story or gameplay, but did reveal the key detail that the game is coming to next-generation Xbox and PC – it’s the release date we’re now curious about. That means you can expect to see it on Xbox One, too. The game is coming to both Xbox Series X and PC, Microsoft has confirmed, and it’ll be among the first to support the Xbox’s Smart Delivery technology that gives you access to the best version of the game on whichever system you’re playing on. We expect intense environmental assets flying around combat scenes - and fluid animation to capture every expression. The hardware capabilities of the new console generation will bring Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 to life. We aren't expecting too much to change in combat and objectives, but an enhanced story paired with stunning models and visuals. Mythical auras in the locations can create challenging puzzles and the potential to unravel more of Senua's dark past. It presents surfaces that are ideal for battlegrounds. The environment is ideal against the previous mechanics. The black sands and volcanoes confirm the location of the game in Iceland. The colors are dark, the atmosphere is livid, and it sets up yet another tense journey - a story that hasn't come to fruition yet. Much Celtic chanting and emotional facial expressions lead to the climax of harrowing Norsemen hanging limbs and marching towards something. Much like the first game - the trailer presenting the second part is intense. ![]()
